The Environmental Express Patented StepSaverTM For EPA Method 1664 saves time and simplifies the disk method for oil and grease. This unique apparatus allows the analyst to collect the solvent with the oil and grease fraction directly into a pre-weighed collection flask with no disassembly or reassembly of the glassware. The eluent is already chemically dried and can be directly evaporated to obtain the weight of the extracted oil and grease.
The StepSaver design incorporates a two-way 120º Teflon stopcock and a patented glassware design that passes the solvent though a Na2SO4 cartridge before being collected in a pre-weighed flask. Extraction, elution and drying are all accomplished with one apparatus saving time and cleanup steps. StepSavers are available in both 47mm and 90mm configurations. Vacuum manifolds (sold separately) are available to accommodate up to seven StepSavers.
