Hellma fibre optic probes - Suitable for most laboratory and process applications Click here for more details
The various probe types manufactured by Hellma GmbH & Co. KG in Müllheim/Germany differ not only in external appearance but also in their internal construction. But there is one important thing they have in common: the measuring head made entirely of quartz.
The advantages of this construction principle are obvious. Quartz is a material which is resistant to nearly all kinds of chemicals and aggressive media. Because of its low coefficient of thermal expansion the probes withstand very high and very low temperatures and also high pressures. Our process probes are actually designed for rough usage sites and heavy duty use.
Some application examples are monitoring of production processes, checking the release of the active ingredients in drugs (TDA measurements), cleaning validation, quality control, observing bacteria during fermentation, determination of acid concentrations or, in case of the ATR probe, the measurement of strongly absorbing media such as undiluted electrolytes, dyes and inks.
